KASMON
National Automatic Radio Spectrum Monitoring System
KenBIT winning the public unlimited tender organized by the Office of Electronic Communication developed a software for a National Automatic Radio Spectrum Monitoring System (KASMON). The system monitors the electromagnetic spectrum, bearings radio stations and their localizations, provides an automatic process of radio emission measurements. Thanks to the implemented high-tech instrumentation (radio bearing finder, radio sets, spectrum analyzers, antenna systems with commutators and rotors) and customized software, the measurement is automated which ensures fast and effective execution, in accordance with ITU-R recommendations. The operator with the use of automated measurement actions can more easily assess the value of received and processed results thanks to the graphic visualization in the form of different types of images, as well as in the form of printed measurement report. KASMON makes for an invaluable and indispensable measurement instrument for the Office of Electronic Communications, which is used for fulfilling its statutory responsibilities as far as controlling the radio spectrum is concerned.
Software architecture
The software controlling KASMON is built in a multilayer architecture. Three components may be running implemented at each control position of the monitoring station: local data base, remote access (server application) and, if required, the client application. This architecture is applied both to work on-site and for remote work.
